Our Story

As an agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) is responsible to drive the country in the scope of Green Growth, Climate Change Mitigation and Green Lifestyle.

Who we are · Ambition 2030

National policy, delivered as everyday climate action.

Two national policies regulate MGTC's role: the National Green Technology Policy (NGTP) and the Green Technology Master Plan (GTMP). Together they set the direction for Malaysia's green technology agenda — from how we grow the economy to how communities live, work and move.

MGTC turns that mandate into programmes people can use: advisory and certification for industry, financing and tax incentives for green investment, learning pathways for green talent, and flagship platforms that put sustainability on the national stage.

Our Ambition 2030 is clear. We work with government, industry and communities so Malaysia can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 (against 2005 levels), grow GDP from green technology by RM100 billion, and generate 230,000 green jobs.

How we deliver

Three roles that shape Malaysia's green transition.

Driving climate change mitigation actions

We advance energy efficiency, renewable energy and low-carbon urban programmes — including GHG management and the Low Carbon Cities 2030 Challenge — so mitigation is practical, measurable and shared across cities and industry.

Mainstreaming the Green Economy

We grow the market for green products and services through MyHIJAU Mark, the Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS), and tax incentives that help companies invest in cleaner technology and certified supply chains.

Cultivating a green lifestyle

We build public awareness and participation through campaigns, education and flagship events such as the International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM).

Integrity and governance

An agency built for public trust.

MGTC operates as Malaysia's dedicated green technology and climate change agency — connecting policy, industry and communities with clear programmes, transparent reporting and accountable delivery.

From our Bandar Baru Bangi headquarters we work with ministries, cities, businesses and partners across the region to keep the road to net zero visible and usable.
